Literature Festival

Today I went to a big Lit Fiesta with other writer types from my school. The whole day was spent listening to talks by Young Adult Fiction authors, a storyteller and someone who loves comics (?). One of the best talks, in my opinion, was by author A J Betts. She talked about the whole process from idea to published book and gave some very interesting tips about finding inspiration (from photos, from people, from conversations you just happen to overhear...), scribbling it down, planning and playing the 'what if' game. Some of the other speeches were by a yarn-spinning, poetry-reciting storyteller from the bush and a lawyer/author who talked about racial descrimination. We're going back tomorrow for the practical writing part. Am looking forward to it - I love writing.

I don't really have any pictures for this - sorry! Might do a crafty, picture-filled post later today. Bye for now! xx
