Update

I know I haven't been on hiatus for very long, but already I am getting blog withdrawal symptoms and itchy fingers and so forth (crafting is so much more satisfying when you can share your results). So I have decided to start a new blog, because I don't think I've really been myself in this one. I'll leave Pretty Little Sixpence up for a while, just in case anyone is actually reading this, and then I will delete it for a New Beginning. Yes. That is what will happen.

Blog Hiatus

I'm feeling pretty inspiration-less at the moment, and I think I'll take I bit of a blog hiatus. I'll probably start posting again when I've got more time and enthusiasm. I don't know when this will be - maybe in a month or two? I don't know. Probably quite a while. Maybe forever. I think I'd like to have a more specific topic for my blog, not just assorted crafty ramblings, y'know?
So, goodbye for a while. If I do decide to close this blog I'll let you know. xx

Very early Christmassy bits

A couple of days ago I spent some time making little Christmas gift tags out of cards from previous years (I thought I should start preparing for the festive season before mid-December, for once).

These are the tags I've made so far. I've been using only the tastefulest of cards, so I now have a huge stack of corny, untasteful ones that don't deserve to be reincarnated into tags. Does anyone know of anything I could make out of old, cheesy Christmas cards?

These are some of the ones that will be made into new tags or maybe new cards for xmas this year.
I've also (finally) been making some progress at crochet. At the moment I'm just working on practice granny squares but I hope to start a real live project soon.
Hope your weekend is going just great! xx

Sweet stitching

Just finished stitching an origami crane design onto an old (boring) scarf. The crane started out as a drawing I did for A Drawing a Day.

My stitches are a bit wonky but hey, I'm only an amateur. Plenty of time to improve. I was quite pleased with the result as it's one of my first finished embroidery projects ('finished' being the key word...).
I'm going through an origami phase at the moment and I'm starting to think about making strings of cranes out of magazine pages to hang around my room. Please don't ask why.

More crafty things coming soon! xx
